GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – Gloversville police have arrested a 32-year-old man after he allegedly destroyed an apartment in an effort to find daughter.
Police say Cecilio Persen, of Gloversville, went to a Division Street apartment in an attempt to locate his 15-year-old daughter who he believed had run away to that location. Persen and a 14-year-old male entered the apartment and caused several thousand dollars’ worth of damage with a pellet pistol and hammer.
Police say they broke down several doors, turned over a refrigerator and kitchen table, along with other vandalism of the apartment.
At 9 p.m. Persen turned himself into police. He is charged with Burglary and Criminal Mischief. Charges against the 14-year-old are pending and will be forwarded to Family Court due to his age.
Persen’s daughter was found hiding in the attic as detectives processed the scene.
