Cairo man indicted by Grand Jury for alleged sale of prescription drugs

CAIRO, N.Y. – A Cairo man has been arrested and accused of illegally selling prescription medication. 

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Alex Risch, 22, was arrested in April after several months of an investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office said that they were investigating the illegal sale of prescription medication in Greene County. Risch allegedly sold the drugs, which he legally obtained from a doctor. 

Risch was indicted by a Greene County Grand Jury on April 25 for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fifth degree. 

Risch was remanded to Greene County Jail pending future court appearances.    

The felony charges came from an investigation between the Sheriff’s Office, Greene County District Attorney’s Office, and New York State Police.
