Two men accused of attempting to steal TV from Wal-Mart
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office say two men have been arrested after they allegedly tried to steal a television from a store then flee from authorities.
According to authorities, on Sunday around 10:30 a.m., officers reported to the Wal-Mart on State Route 9 for the larceny of a 40’’ flat screen high definition television.
Witnesses told authorities that an unknown male placed the TV in a cart and tried to flee the store without paying for the item. However, the man was confronted by loss prevention at the main doors of the store. The man then fled the area without the television.
Officers say that they spotted the suspect’s vehicle based on a description from witnesses. As a traffic stop was initiated, the vehicle pulled into a convenience store on Route 9 and both occupants fled the vehicle.
