Schenectady police investigate shots fired on Second Avenue

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- The Schenectady Police Department is investigating an incident in which shots were fired in the area of Sunset and Second Avenue on Thursday.

According to police, the preliminary investigation has shown that there was an argument between two groups of people. One half of the argument left and returned a short time later, and both parties began to argue again.

They say during the course of the second argument, a white male, in his 30s, last seen wearing a red shirt and black pants removed a handgun from his waist and fired at least one round. He then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

There were no injuries as a direct result of this incident, and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Schenectady Police Department at (518) 382-5200 ext. 5617.
