Police: Stand-off ends, Clinton Avenue and Ontario Street reopen

Posted:
ALBANY, N.Y. – Albany Police have reopened the area of Clinton Avenue and Ontario Street after a stand-off on Wednesday morning.

Police at the scene say a man made threats against his girlfriend. Police were negotiating, but say it was not a hostage situation, although four children, ages 3 to 6 were inside.

A SWAT Team entered the first floor to begin negotiations around 11 a.m. Police confirm the stand-off has since ended. Officials say charges may or may not be filed.

The public was originally asked to avoid the area, but police activity concluded shortly before noon.
