GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – The Gloversville Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place Tuesday night.

The Gloversville Police Department responded to a report for a shooting around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday at 77 Fremont St. Upon arrival, police located the 33-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the face. The victim was also beaten up and had multiple lacerations and contusions on his face.

The victim told police he answered his door around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday and was greeted by a man who immediately struck him in the head with a pistol and ordered him to the ground.

According to the victim, two other males entered the apartment and proceeded to beat him with their fists, feet and a hammer. The assailants demanded money and drugs they believed were in the apartment.

The victim was bound and continued to be beaten. One of the male suspects covered the victim’s head with a couch cushion and then discharged a round into the pillow grazing his face.

The victim said a second person, only known to him as Cliff, was in the apartment before the assailants arrived. Cliff was also severely beaten with the hammer, according to the victim.

Cliff has not been located and is described as a black male, five feet 10 inches tall, in his late 20s or 30s and from the Utica area.

The suspects have all been described as three black males in their early-to-mid twenties.

The first suspect was wearing a black shirt, jeans and Nikes. He is about six feet one inch tall and 190 pounds with a goatee and short Caesar haircut.

The second suspect was described as six feet two inches tall with short hair and wearing dark clothing.

The third suspect was shorter than the other two suspects and wore a silver hoodie and dark jeans.
