COBLESKILL, N.Y.—The Cobleskill fire department will host a public meeting to address the growing heroin problem on Tuesday.
There will be training on how to administer the heroin overdose drug Narcan, which is a medication that has been shown to reverse the effects of opiate overdoses.
The fire department, EMT’s, and substance abuse counselors will talk about how to get an actual prescription for the drug for someone who is an opiate addict.
The meeting will also focus on the county’s response to the rise in addictions in Schoharie County.
The meeting starts at 6:30 and will go until 8.
