LOUDONVILLE, N.Y.—The town of Colonie’s Conservation Advisory Council will distribute free tree seedlings on Saturday.
Residents will be distributed seedlings in honor of Arbor Day.
Seedlings to be distributed are red pine, Norway spruce, Japanese larch, high bush cranberry, pussy willow, red osier dogwood, red stem dogwood, silky dogwood, and wetland rose.
“Planting a seedling not only helps the environment but also helps beautify our Town. I thank the Conservation Advisory Council for organizing this Arbor Day event,” said Colonie Supervisor Paula A. Mahan.
Master gardeners from the Cornell Cooperative Extension will be on hand to answer questions about planting and general gardening.
Free tree seedlings will be distributed to town residents are the William K Sanford Town Library on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. until noon.
Residents are urged to arrive early for the best selection of seedlings.
