COBLESKILL, N.Y. – State Police have arrested two men after a traffic stop on Route 7.
On Sunday around 10 p.m., Troopers initiated a traffic stop after their witnessed a car unable to maintain its lane.
Authorities determined that the driver, Richard Volmer, 28, smelled of marijuana and alcohol. Volmer also had bloodshot eyes and poor coordination, according to police.
Upon further investigation, it was allegedly found that Volmer was revoked for failure to submit to a chemical test from 2011 and had an active warrant for his arrest from Albany.
Volmer was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, DWI, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st degree. He was arraigned and remanded to Schoharie County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail.
The passenger of the vehicle, Harold Albright III, 18, was also arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of metal knuckles while having a court order preventing him from possessing any weapons. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4thdegree and Criminal Contempt of Court in the 2nddegree. He was arraigned and remanded to Schoharie County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.
