ALBANY, N.Y. – In a matter of months, summer will arrive and air condition assistance is officially here to help some New Yorkers.
Governor Cuomo announced on Monday a $3 million program to provide air conditioners to eligible low-income New Yorkers with documented medical conditions.
The program will help provide relief for senior citizens and children with illnesses.
To qualify, households must meet 2013-2014 HEAP income guidelines and have a household member with a medical condition.
Assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis starting May 1.
