GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – A local teacher is a semi-finalist for the State Education Department Teacher of the Year award.
Gloversville High School Latin teacher Charles Giglio is one of 10 semi-finalists in the state for the award.
“We have many outstanding teachers in the Gloversville school district, and Charlie exemplifies this through his dedication, hard work and caring attitude,” Superintendent Michael Vanyo said.
The award has been around for 45 years, honoring one teach every year to represent New York at events across the state and country.
The 10 semi-finalists will be narrowed down in May, and then the winner will be selected by the State Department of Education.
