ATHENS, N.Y. – A Fire Chief spotted smoke coming out of a building on Sunday while taking his wife to work.
According to officials, the Athens Fire Chief saw the smoke coming out of the second story window in the Route 385 home. The chief said one man was leaving the building and a second was trying to go back inside.
However, the man was stopped and taken to Albany Medical Center for minor burns.
The Chief said the home was a total loss.
The fire is under investigation.
