AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – State Police arrested a man for felony DWI after he was allegedly caught sleeping at an intersection in his vehicle.

Authorities say Troopers arrested Mark Vickers, 40, on Sunday after they received a call for a vehicle stopped at the intersection County Highway 107 and State Route 30 in the Town of Perth.

Upon investigation, Troopers found Vickers sleeping in the vehicle. During an interview with Vickers, strong odor of alcohol was coming from the vehicle and Vickers’ breath.

Troopers attempted to administer field sobriety tests; however, they say Vickers refused. He was placed under arrest and taken to the State Police Station in Mayfield for processing.

Further investigation revealed that Vickers had two prior DWI convictions within the previous 10 years and as a result his New York State license was revoked. He was additionally charged with felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st degree. He was issued a ticket for being stopped on a public highway.

Vickers also refused the breath test and was arraigned in the Town of Perth Court and remanded to Fulton County Jail in lieu of $500.00 cash and $1,000.00 bond.
