Candlelight vigil to be held for missing Albany native

ALBANY, N.Y. – Nearly two months after a local man disappeared in Florida, his family will hold a walk and candlelight vigil in his honor on Sunday.

Reny Jose, a 2010 graduate of Shaker High School, when missing while on Spring Break in early March. He was in Panama City Beach, Florida with friends.

His family has been down to Florida several times to help police search for Jose.

In order to keep his name circulating, “Team Find Reny,” will start their vigil in front of Albany City Hall on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The 21-year-old's friends and family vow they will not give up until he is found.

Authorities say Jose was last seen on March 3 at 7 p.m. His friends told authorities that he went for a walk in the evening and never returned. He arrived to Panama City Beach on March 1 with his friends. His clothing and personal items were found in a garbage can near the home, including his cell phone.

Jose is described as 5'10" and around 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

The Sheriff's Office said it is possible Jose took drugs prior to his disappearance and that he may have a history of drug use. 

The family of the Rice University student is now offering a $15,000 reward for information about the man's whereabouts.
