SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Schenectady is still in the game when it comes to casinos. That’s the word coming from the developers of the former Alco site. The Galesi Group says they submitted the $1 million fee to the state in the hopes of building a casino on part of their property. They own 57 acres along the river, now known as Mohawk Harbor, and the idea is to use nearly half of it for a casino. They couldn't provide any renderings of the plan or specifics, and they say they're waiting for the capital requirements from the state. They also confirm they haven't asked the mayor or city council for a resolution of support, saying it's too early.
