UAlbany students take part in campus cleanup

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Students and staff at the University at Albany are taking part in a campus cleanup day Thursday.

University President Robert Jones will be among those working outside at 21 designated work sites around the campus.

Projects include gardening, planting, and painting as the campus prepares for spring commencement.

The cleanup is expected to end at 4 o'clock.

And the Central Avenue Business Improvement District will be teaming up with equinox to clean up parts of Albany.

Teens from the Equinox Youth Outreach Center will work with neighbors and members of the business district to plant flowers in Townsend Park, and pick up trash along Central Avenue.

The clean up is a way for the groups to celebrate Earth Day.
