COLONIE, N.Y. – A Prescription Drug take back initiative will be held in Colonie on Saturday.
Town Supervisor Paula Mahan and Police Chief Steven Heider have announced that on April 26, the Colonie Police Department, will host the initiative,
Saturday is National Take Back Day, which annually focuses on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from medicine cabinets. Residents are able to surrender expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and over the counter medication to law enforcement officers for destruction.
The collection will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Main Courtroom of the Public Safety Center located at 312 Wolf Road in Latham.
The effort is in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
