Two Massachusetts men arrested after vehicle stop

EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y.—Troopers based out of Schodack stopped a vehicle in East Greenbush that led to two arrests on Tuesday.

Abdul Watt, 19 and Travis Perkins, 20, both of Springfield, gave conflicting stories of where they were going when troopers detected a marijuana odor from inside the vehicle.

After a search of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia, cash, and counterfeit instruments were located inside the car.

Watt was charged with two counts of Possession of a Forged instrument and Unlawful possession of marijuana, as well as vehicle and traffic violations.

Perkins was charged with Unlawful Possession of marijuana and a vehicle and traffic violation for not wearing his seat belt.

Both Watt and Perkins are to appear back in the Town of East Greenbush court on April 25. Watt was remanded to Rensselaer County jail on $5,000 cash or bond until his court date.
