Two teens accused of stealing, crashing car

HARTFORD, N.Y. – The Washington County Undersheriff says two teens are facing charges after they allegedly stole a car then crashed it on Tuesday.

Authorities say the two 13-year-olds allegedly stole one of their parent’s cars then rolled it over on Blood Street shortly before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. The undersheriff said the juveniles drove off the road and wrecked the vehicle.

The teens were uninjured.

As a rescue squad staff member found the wreck, he informed the teens that the police would be contacted. Authorities say the teens then ran away.

Both teens will be petitioned to Washington County Family Court for juvenile prosecutions.
