Woman accused of driving drugged, causing crash, with infant in car

MALTA, N.Y. – State Police say they arrested a woman for driving drugged with an infant in her vehicle.
According to authorities, on April 14 around 4:30 p.m., Troopers responded to an accident on State Route 9 and Cramer Road.

Upon arrival, Ashley Schober, 25, told State Police that she attempted to pass a vehicle on route 9 and lost control of her car which caused her to strike another vehicle on Cramer Road.

An investigation revealed that Schober’s car had become airborne and eventually landed on its roof.

Police determined Schober was under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident. She was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs, a felony, because Schober was allegedly driving with a one year old infant inside her vehicle during the crash. Schober was issued an appearance ticket.

Those injured during the accident were non-life threatening.
