ALBANY, N.Y.—Two Albany men were arrested on counterfeiting charges after a seven month long investigation.
During a traffic stop on Wednesday, April 16, investigators were conducting surveillance on two men, observed their vehicle on Central Avenue in Colonie, and pulled them over for a traffic law violation.
David King, 44, and Levar VanHosen, 37, were both in the car when pulled over.
Upon interviewing King and VanHosen, police discovered a quantity of fake currency.
In all, the two men had $1,440 in counterfeit bills. With the assistance of the United States Secret Service, a search of their residence was conducted and a printer and printing supplies were discovered.
King was charged with 30 counts of Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument in the first degree, and Conspiracy in the fourth degree.
VanHosen was charged with Conspiracy in the fourth degree.
Both were arraigned in the town of Colonie Court and sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.
