ALBANY, N.Y.—An upstate New York American Red Cross employee will be running in next week's Boston Marathon for Team Red Cross.
Clayton Kolb, originally from Canandaigua, began his Red Cross career with the Northeastern New York chapter in Albany.
Kolb was on the leadership team for the Red Cross relief response in Boston after the bombing at the marathon last year.
"Clayton was one of several Red Cross staff from Northeastern New York that went to help with the Marathon response last year, and we hope everyone will support his Team Red Cross run this year in memory of last year's victims," said Northeastern New York Regional CEO Gary Striar.
59 Team Red Cross runners will complete the 26.2 mile journey on April 21, with a team goal of raising more than $225,000 to benefit the American Red Cross.
