Woman accused of assaulting two victims, causing injuries

RICHMONDVILLE, N.Y. – New York State Police have arrested a woman after a reported assault.

According to authorities, on April 10, Lakiesha Smith, 25, unlawfully entered a residence where a victim was sleeping. Smith is accused of then assaulting the victim on two separate occasions, causing injuries.

An investigation revealed that Smith allegedly assaulted another victim the same day, also causing injuries.

Troopers say a motive for the attacks is still under investigation. However, police believe it is related to a "lovers quarrel".

Smith was arrested on April 11 for two counts of misdemeanor assault in the third degree, and two counts of burglary in the second degree, a felony.

Smith was arraigned and remanded to Schoharie County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.  She is due back in court on April 16, 2014.
