COLUMBIA COUNTY, N.Y. - Many people in Columbia County are looking for answers during Tuesday night's committee meeting after a training session last week ended up causing 20 minutes of terror.
Last Tuesday, employees at the County Human Services building say they were overcome with sheer terror and panic when an armed intruder started roaming the halls. However, that armed intruder was actually a plain clothes police officer who was part of a safety drill.
Police say it was their understanding that every department head was aware of when and how the drill was taking place.
The County Board of Supervisors requested that those who organized the drill within the health department give a report at to what went wrong.
Employees and clients, who say they were traumatized by the drill, are expected to have a chance to voiced their questions and concerns at a meeting Tuesday.
