Mayor plans parade for Dutchmen after national win

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The City of Schenectady plans to hold a parade for the Dutchmen.

Mayor Gary McCarthy says he'll work with college officials and local business leaders to line up a parade. The parade has been scheduled for Thursday, April 17 from 4-6 p.m.

Union has an enrollment of 2,200 students.

The Dutchmen defeated Minnesota 7 - 4 to capture the school's first NCAA national championship.

McCarthy joined students and other fans outside Union's rink on Sunday to welcome the champions home. Players exited the bus holding the championship trophy.

The parade will being on the Union College campus and end at Schenectady City Hall. The exact route will be announced at a later date.
