SCHOHARIE, NY - On April 9, State Troopers in Cobleskill arrested Jason M. Leslie, 35, following a domestic dispute and a 3-hour armed standoff.
At approximately 6:00 p.m., officers investigated a domestic dispute that occurred at Dunkin Donuts in the Town of Schoharie. Investigation revealed that a physical dispute occurred after the victim ended their relationship.
Leslie left the scene prior to Troopers arrival but shortly after
was located at his residence in the Town of Wright. There, while armed with a
.22 caliber rifle, he refused to cooperate with Troopers and barricaded himself
in his residence. A perimeter was established, nearby residences were
evacuated, and a short portion of State Route 146 was closed by State Police,
Schoharie County Deputies, and the Town of Schoharie Fire Department.
After a 3-hour standoff, Leslie peacefully surrendered and was taken into the custody of State Police. He was processed for Harassment 2nd, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, and Criminal Mischief 3rd at SP Cobleskill and arraigned in the Town of Schoharie Court. He was remanded to jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $15,000 bond and is due back in court on April 21.
