CHATHAM, N.Y. – The Chatham CSD Board of Education has adopted a proposed budget for the 2014-2015 school year.
The budget was adopted on Tuesday, which totals $29,468,429, a 1% increase over the 2013-2014 budget. The Board says the budget carries a tax levy increase of .66%, which is within the District's tax cap set by the state.
"This is the lowest tax increase in fifteen years," said the school business administrator Michael Chudy when presenting the final budget to the Board.
A public hearing on the proposed budget is scheduled for May 13, 6:30 p.m. in the high school library. Voting on the budget takes place May 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the MED gymnasium.
