Code Blue Homeless Housing Program Shatters Record

ALBANY, N.Y.—The Homeless and Travelers Aid Society announced record breaking statistics on Tuesday.

1,449 homeless people were sheltered during the 2013 through 2014 CodeBlue Season, where as last year the program sheltered 279 people.

The Homeless Action Committee (HAC Van) also transported 361 homeless people on Code Blue nights.

A Code Blue is called when the temperature is expected to be ten degrees or less including wind chill and/or when twelve or more inches or snow is forecasted.
