Vermont man accused of animal cruelty

WEST PAWLET, Vt., -  A Vermont man has been arrested after an investigation into an animal cruelty complaint.

According to the Pawlet Constable, Keith L. Prevost, 46, has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty.

Authorities say police found two malnourished dogs inside Prevost's home on Route 153. They say both dogs were in need of medical attention.

Upon further investigation, police found another dog was deceased in a cage and a second was "clinging to life." The second dog was taken to the Rupert Vet and after being evaluated, it was euthanized.

Prevost was arrested and released with a citation to appear in Rutland District Court at a later date.
