RESNSSELAER, N.Y. – Two organizations have teamed up to expand giving star ratings to child care providers in Rensselaer County.
The two groups are United Way and the Capital District Child Care Council, and the program is called Quality Stars New York. They'll be working with three child care centers and about 12 family providers getting them technical assistance and training and financial support to ensure they're providing the highest quality early child care.
"It's very exciting that they would then get not only the technical support from quality improvement specialists, but they would get scholarship dollars and education materials that would be beneficial to the children in their program," Abbe Kovacik with the Capital District Child Care Council said.
The program is voluntary.
