SCHENECTADY COUNTY, N.Y. – State Police conducted a traffic enforcement detail over the weekend in Schenectady County.
Police say that on Saturday, the detail was designed to get motorists to obey speed limits and the State's "Move Over" law.
"Ambrose-Searles Move Over" law was enacted in January 2011 in an effort to protect law enforcement officers and emergency workers along New York's roadways. The law was amended in January 2012 to include hazard vehicles, such as tow trucks and utility service vehicles.
Troopers from the Princetown and Cobleskill stations say they issued 46 tickets which included 10 speeding tickets and 30 tickets for violations of the "Move Over" law.
State Police also say one motorist was
arrested for driving while intoxicated.
