Local schools receive money for clean-energy training programs


BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. – Two local organizations will receive funding for clean energy training programs.

Governor Cuomo announced on Monday that a total of $1.1 million for five clean-energy training programs which will help prepare high school students as they further their education and careers in energy efficient technology.

The Ballston Spa CSD will received $200,000 to help train about 110 students through the existing Clean Technologies and Sustainable Industries ECHS program.

The Rensselaer, Columbia, Greene Board of Cooperative Educational Services will received $199,000 to train about 125 high school students at Rensselaer Educational Center, Columbia Greene Educational Center, Tech Valley High School, and Rensselaer High School.
