Local Yankees fans heading for Jeter's last opening day
ALBANY, N.Y. - A group of more than 100 die hard Yankees fans are taking a bus from the Capital Region to the Bronx to be there for Derek Jeter's last home opener.
The group of about 110 Yankees fans left from Crossgates Commons around 8 a.m.
The Yankees legend announced before the season that this year will be his last playing baseball, meaning Monday will be the last chance for fans to see him take the field at Yankee Stadium on opening day.
Last night, Jeter moved to 8th place on the all time hit list, with 3,320 hits.
The Bronx Bombers will take on the Baltimore Orioles at 1 p.m.
