Leicester, V.T. - Two Vermont State troopers are recovering after being shot by a suspect in Leicester, Vermont Sunday morning.
Police received a call about a shooting on Lake Dunmore Road in Leicester just before 3 AM Sunday. When officers arrived, they found a man that had been shot in the head.
The victims wife told authorities that an unknown person entered their home while they were sleeping and shot her husband. A short time later, Troopers identified a neighbor as a possible suspect and surrounded his house.
That suspect, 47-year-old Timothy Foley, refused to come out of his home and began firing on Troopers, hitting two of them in the head with pellets from a shotgun.
Both Troopers were able to move to a safe area while negotiators made contact with Foley in the home.
Foley eventually surrendered without further incident, and was charged with two counts of attempted aggravated murder and two counts of attempted murder.
The two troopers that were shot were transported to the hospital where one was treated and released while the other was transferred to Fletcher Allen Medical Center for further treatment.
Both Troopers are expected to survive their injuries.
The victim that was shot inside his home is also being treated at Fletcher Allen Medical Center. He is also to expected to survive his injuries.
Foley was remanded to jail on $100,000 bail and will be arraigned Monday morning.
