NISKAYUNA, N.Y. — As of April 15, 2014, Susan Kay Salvaggio will be voluntarily separated from her position as Niskayuna Central School District superintendent.
The Niskayuna Central School District Board of Education and Salvaggio reached a mutual agreement providing her separation from her position.
Salvaggio has served as the NCSD superintendent since July 1, 2011.
Salvaggio and the Board have disagreed as to the best course of action to ensure the continued success of the District and that certain differences have arisen relating to expected performance.
"The Board of Education wishes Mrs. Salvaggio the best in the future and we thank her for her efforts over the past few years. We appreciate her strong voice in advocating for adequate funding for the education of the children of Niskayuna and all children statewide, for her work on the district's STEAM initiative, the International Scholars Program, the Summer Enrichment Program, Strategic Planning, and her overall commitment to addressing the financial challenges the district has faced for several years," said Board President Deb Oriola.
The board will meet in the near future to appoint a new District Superintendent.
