Woman calls 911 after realizing she was too drunk to drive

DELMAR, N.Y. – Bethlehem Police arrested a 51-year-old Delmar woman on Wednesday, after she called 911 after allegedly realizing she was too drunk to drive.  

Cynthia Begg called 911 at around 3:50 p.m., requesting police assistance. Police said she told responding officers she was too drunk to drive after leaving her residence.

Begg was attempting to drive to a nearby residence in Delmar and was located near Kenwood Avenue and Delaware Avenue. The 51-year-old was arrested and found to have a Blood Alcohol Content of .31 percent.

Begg was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving with a BAC over .08 percent and Driving with a BAC over .18 percent.

Begg is scheduled to appear in Bethlehem Town Court on April 15.
