ALBANY, N.Y. – The Albany County Sheriff's Office is investigating the sudden death of an inmate who passed away in his cell while in custody at the Albany County Correctional Facility.
Inmate Michael Williams was placed into custody at Albany County Correctional on March 8. At around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, the Troy native was witnessed to be experiencing a seizure. Security and medical staff responded and began CPR until the arrival of Colonie EMS.
Williams was pronounced dead at noon.
The death is under investigation and an autopsy will be performed on the 29-year-old Wednesday afternoon.
