ALBANY, N.Y.—The bidding period for commercial casino applicants is now open.
New York gaming facility location board announced the minimum licensing fee for a casino in the Capital Region is $50 million.
On top of that, the application fee will cost $1 million.
There will be four destination gaming resorts in upstate New York with up to two facilities in the Capital Region, Catskills, Hudson Valley, and Eastern Southern tier regions.
Each application must submit a resolution passed by the local legislative body that supports the application for building a casino.
Applications will be accepted until June 30.
