Police: Delmar firefighter arrested for online involvement with ‘perceived’ teen


DELMAR, N.Y. – A Delmar man is facing multiple charges stemming from a two week investigation.

Bethlehem Police say Timothy Haverly, 32, has been arrested for his online involvement with what Haverly believed to be a 13-year-old female.

An investigation conducted by Bethlehem Police, Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia and the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit, led to Haverly's arrest.

He has been charged with felonies promoting a sexual performance by a child, possessing a sexual performance by a child and attempted disseminating indecent materials to minors. He is also charged with misdemeanors criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, attempted endangering the welfare of a child, and the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.

Haverly was arraigned and remanded to Albany County Correction Facility without bail. He will be back in town court on April 7.

Haverly is a firefighter with the Shaker Road Loundonville Fire Department and the Delmar Fire Department. Police are asking anyone who has any additional information on Haverly to contact police at 439-9973.
