ALBANY, N.Y. - Two rallies are being held in Albany on Tuesday, one for, and one against the NY SAFE ACT.
The organization "SCOPE" is part of the rally. SCOPE stands for "Shooters Committee on Political Education" and they are a group trying to get the SAFE ACT repealed.
New Yorkers against gun violence and state legislators against illegal guns will be holding a press event on Tuesday.
Due to the high volume expected at the rallies, Albany Police have marked off a number of parking restrictions and road closures downtown.
Parking restrictions began at 6 a.m. on Lincoln Park from Eagle Street to Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard. There are restrictions on Madison Avenue on both sides from Eagle Street to South Swan Street and on both sides of State Street from South Swan Street to Eagle Street.
These restrictions will continue until 5 p.m.
CDTA will be picking up afternoon passengers from the Empire State Plaza per their normal schedule with the exception of the afternoon Northway express.
