GREENFIELD, N.Y. – A woman has been sentenced to State Prison for possession of methamphetamine, according to Saratoga County District Attorney James A. Murphy.
Marlinea South, 35, was sentenced to four years in State Prison and five years of post-release supervision that will run concurrently with a one to three year term.
South pleaded guilty to the charge of attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
Officials say the plea and sentence stem from an incident that occurred on October 6, 2013. South and Megan Howell were found in possession of methamphetamine as well as materials that are typically used to manufacture the drug.
South was previously convicted of a crime during the incident and was found in possession of a pistol without a permit.
Howell pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree earlier this year. She was sentenced to four years in State Prison and two years of post-release supervision.
