Man accused of daytime burglary in Brunswick


BRUNSWICK, N.Y. – State Troopers have arrested a man for an alleged day time burglary on Saturday.

According to State Police Michael Lemperle, 27, has been charged with Burglary in the 3rd degree and Possession of Burglar Tools. 

Lemperle was allegedly found inside Kneer's Automotive on Hoosick Road in the Town of Brunswick Saturday morning by a manager of Kneer's. The manager was going to complete needed repairs on the building Saturday morning and noticed the front door to the building was forcefully opened. 

The manager began to check the building and State Police he saw Lemperle inside of Kneer's removing aluminum rims. 

As Lemperle saw the manager he allegedly fled the building on foot.  The manager contacted the State Police dispatch of the burglary with the description of Lemperle. 

Shortly after, Lemperle was seen walking on State Route 7 in Brunswick by State Police patrols. 

The Watervliet man was arrested and arraigned in the Town of Brunswick Court and sent to the Rensselaer County Jail on $50,000 cash or bond.  Lemperle is currently on Probation in Albany County for Burglary. 

The investigation is still on going and anyone with information is urged to contact the State Police in Brunswick at 279-4427.
