CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – An Albany man has been charged with felony DWI by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office.
The Office responded to a call for an unknown motor vehicle accident on Crescent Road in Clifton Park on Saturday evening.
Authorities say they determined that a 2002 pick-up truck was driven by Jeffery Horton, 40. Horton was allegedly traveling southbound on the I-87 off ramp at Exit 8 when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection. Horton's truck then struck a vehicle driven by Shaynie Devalia, 31.
Horton was taken to Albany Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of an apparent eye injury. The Sheriff's Office said he was charged with felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, assault in the third degree, three counts of reckless endangerment in the second degree, passing a red light, expired inspection, and reckless driving.
According to authorities, the Albany man is still in the hospital receiving treatment and he will be arraigned when he is released.
The Sheriff's Office said Devalia suffered an injury to her tow. She is being treated at Albany Medical Center.
The passenger in Horton's vehicle and Devalia's vehicle were not injured.
