ALBANY, N.Y.—Legislatures are still working on the budget, discussing funding plans for Pre-K and a possible delay on the Common Core.
Budget committees met to announce agreements on smaller ticket items on Wednesday, but more work remains.
Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver said he expects to print budget bills by Friday, which would allow the legislature to vote by Monday, a day before the new fiscal year begins.
Silver said discussion continues about changes to common core standards. Leaders are also talking about ways to help charter schools to operate in public school buildings.
