Police say teen died from snowboarding accident at Vermont resort


WINHALL, Vt., - Winhall Police say a teenager died over the weekend in a snowboarding accident.

According to authorities, Tommy Hoang, 16, of Randolph, Massachusetts died from his injuries which he sustained in an accident on Saturday at Stratton Mountain Resort in Vermont.

Police say Hoang was snowboarding for the first time when he left the 91 trail and crashed into a sign near a wooded area.

Stratton Mountain Ski Patrol responded to the scene immediately and found the teen without a pulse. Ski Patrol and medical personnel at the Carlos Otis Clinic were able to reestablish a pulse.

Hoang was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire by helicopter, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
