Albany man sentenced for starting fire at Albany Medical Center

ALBANY, N.Y.—An Albany man was sentenced to nine years in
state prison on Friday.
Michael Mcallister, 54, pleaded guilty to one count of Arson
in the second degree, one count of Burglary in the third degree, and one count
of Criminal Mischief in the second degree, on February 6.
On August 9, 2013, Mcallister unlawfully enteres a building
at Albany Medical Center and started a fire by means of igniting paper, a
chair, and other items in the vicinity.
In addition to the nine year State Prison sentence for the
Arson charge, Mcallister was also sentenced to two concurrent sentences of two
to six years in state prison on the Burglary and Criminal Mischief charges.
Mcallister was also ordered by the court to pay restitution
in excess of $1 million to cover damage caused by the fire.
