EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. – Police say they arrested a man on Friday with a BAC more than four times the legal limit.
East Greenbush Police say they were called to a minor traffic accident early Friday morning. Upon investigation, authorities determined that Matthew Looby, 35, had backed up unsafely as he left a parking spot at Quigley's and collided with a parked car.
Officers discovered that the man was impaired by alcohol while speaking with Looby.
A DataMaster test registered Looby's blood alcohol content at .37%, more than four times the legal limit for a DWI, according to East Greenbush Police.
Looby had been charged with unsafe backing, DWI, and felony DWI. The felony stems from two prior DWI arrests including one conviction within the last ten years.
He has been arraigned and remanded to the county jail to await a preliminary hearing. His vehicle has been towed and impounded for the time being.
