FORT EDWARD, N.Y. – Fort Edward Police have arrested a 24-year-old man after they say his vehicle got stuck in a snow bank during a burglary.
Christopher M. Black, 24, of Queensbury, was arrested after the department received a call for a Burglary in progress at an East Street home. Officers arrived on scene to find his vehicle stuck in the driveway.
After they interviewed Black and the caller, it was found that Black had broken a window to the residence and crawled through. Once he was inside, he allegedly stole several items including a lap top computer and jewelry.
The care taker of the property arrived at the residence to check on it and found Black inside. The suspect attempted to flee the scene, but his vehicle became stuck in the snow.
Black was arrested and charged with a felony count of Burglary and misdemeanor counts of Criminal Mischief and Petit Larceny. He was arraigned in the Village of Hudson Falls Court and remanded to the Washington County Jail for lack of bail.
