PRINCETOWN, N.Y. – New York State Police have arrested a town justice after neighbors reported gunshots on Monday evening.
Troopers arrived to the Princetown neighborhood after residents said they heard at least three outside gunshots during the evening. Upon investigation, Troopers were able to determine the source of the shots that were fired.
Authorities arrested William Reynolds, 56, for allegedly discharging a shotgun in a neighborhood, which created risk of serious injury to others. He was charged with reckless endangerment in the 2nd, obstructing governmental administration in the second, and resisting arrest.
Troopers say Reynolds was uncooperative during their investigation and arrest.
Reynolds is currently the Town Justice for the Town of Princetown, according to authorities.
He has been issued an appearance ticket.
