ALBANY, N.Y. – A Crown Point man has been sentenced to State Prison after pleading guilty to two felonies in January.
Jeffery Roscoe was sentenced to three to nine years in State Prison on Tuesday morning. He previously pleaded guilty to one count of grand larceny in the 2nd and one count of tax fraud in the 4th.
Roscoe admitted to stealing about $80,000 between May 2011 and December 2011 while working as a bank teller at Trustco Bank in Albany. He falsified a number of business records to conceal the missing money, according to Albany County District Attorney David Soares.
Officials say Roscoe also evaded more than $3,000 in New York State income tax in 2011 by failing to file a person income tax return as required by law.
He has been ordered to pay $83,607.19 in restitution to Trustco Bank and $5,699 to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.
